Welcome to THEi’s 2023 Faculty of Design and Environment Graduation Exhibition.

I would like to congratulate the graduating students from the eight design, environment, and innovative and information technology degree programmes of the Faculty of Design and Environment, namely Digital Advertising, Fashion Design, Product Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management, Multimedia Technology and Innovation, Information and Communications Technology, and Surveying, for reaching this momentous occasion in your lives! I am proud and delighted to witness your achievements after three years of pandemic situations, now finally resuming normalcy.

Overture, this year’s Graduation Exhibition theme, which refers to the introduction of a longer piece in an opera. At THEi, our teachers have diligently imparted the necessary and relevant knowledge, skills, and intellectual capabilities to equip our graduates with practical and applied expertise and competencies, honed through their time at our institution, enabling them to establish the overture of their lives.

As you step out into the world, it is important to remember that this is just the beginning of your journey. Your graduation marks the start of your much-anticipated overture, the opening piece that will introduce the world to you and set the tone for the rest of your life. The possibilities ahead of you are endless. As you are about to embark on an exciting journey full of ups and downs, challenges, opportunities and triumphs, know that you are well-prepared, capable of anything you set your mind and heart to.  We at THEi couldn’t be more proud of you and your achievements.  The practical knowledge, skills, and intellectual capabilities that you have obtained during your time at THEi will serve you well in your future endeavors.

So, embrace your Overture with open arms, let it guide you through life’s rhythm, and remember that the opportunities to create, learn, and grow never stop.
