This design project is to increase the vitality for the residents living in Tin Shui Wai district by introducing a green connection by adding additional green / recreational space connecting the existing green spaces and recreational spaces at the East side of Tin Shui Wai which is occupied by existing open storage, recreational space etc. with touches of heritage and culture of post landfill Tin Shui Wai.
By doing so, hopefully ,it can provide residents with a more even distribution of recreational and green space to hang out, so as to solve the green and recreational area distribution problem, also to encourage people to use the whole green connection since it is connected. Also to introduce the culture and heritage of Tin Shui Wai within the green connection so as to give Tin Shui Wai’s green and recreational space a stronger identity so to differentiate TSW with other parts of Hong Kong, also to encourage people to stay and use within the area with unique spaces or facilities, so to vitalize the area and hopefully improve the mental health conditions for the residents. And by improving the connections of green and recreational space, encourages residents to join and interact with the community. Moreover, by increasing the identity of Tin Shui Wai with heritage and culture so to hopefully help preserve both essential factors of Tin Shui Wai, also to attract attention and tourism for Tin Shui Wai so to secure resources and introduce economic opportunities for local area and residents.
