The Aberdeen Net

The Aberdeen Net is a landscape masterplan proposal calling for the reimagination of the Aberdeen waterfront area. The unique identity of Aberdeen is rooted in the harbour hence shall be made a major ‘stage’ that gather & connect people with its history. This ‘Net’ is a 2-level deckover structure that connects the area in three hierarchy: social, marine & history. Socially, it draws the broken connection between Wong Chuk Hang and Aberdeen town center to the waterfront, creating a main stage that gathers people. For marine net, the mounted walkway that connects to the ‘Net’ with nodes of pier boxes & marine pool forms a linked net of marine activities. Lastly, a history net is generated as the exit points at the eastern/ western side of the ‘Net’ forms a complete loop with historical remains in the area.
