This project mainly aims to improve the Kwun Tong waterfront near the Kwun Tong Industrial Area and turn it into a walkable and livable green space community. As the Kwun Tong Promenade and Cha Kwo Ling Promenade are now separated by the Kwun Tong Vehicle Pier, this project will improve the walking convenience and living experience of the promenade. This plan solves the negative impacts of narrow pedestrian space and lack of greenery in industrial areas. Insufficient sports facilities, insufficient cultural atmosphere, and most of the land used for factories and businesses are also problems. Through research and comprehensive analysis, the project identified the need to explore creative solutions, such as widening routes, connecting broken port promenades to make walking more comfortable, adding more greenery and using sustainable facilities to improve environmental pollution, add more multiple community communication and exercise spaces improve the healthy life balance of residents and office workers living in Kwun Tong, making Kwun Tong a livable place. The design concept elements come from famous factories in Kwun Tong and are also taken from the shape of the official salt pond in Kwun Tong during the Southern Song Dynasty.
