Aberdeen in Hong Kong is a renowned area with a rich history and scenic harbor, but its promenade and open spaces have lacked proper planning and maintenance. This project aims to redesign the Aberdeen promenade, creating a cohesive and high-quality public space. By improving connectivity, promoting mixed-use development, and fostering community interaction, overlooked areas will be revitalized and connected. The design is inspired by the cultural significance of dragons, dividing the site into three parts: Dragon’s Head preserves the shipyard industry and incorporates artistic spaces, Dragon’s Heart serves as a community core, and Dragon’s Tail revitalizes Tai Bak pier. The vision is to establish a vibrant district that celebrates cultural history, encourages community engagement, and provides spaces for art and exploration. |
