After the industrialization era, people have become more concerned about the aesthetics of cities, and many countries are now restoring streams to their natural environments, providing pleasant views and water-friendly areas. However, in Hong Kong, such projects are not well-developed. Recognizing the potential of the Tai Wai Nullah, we aim to establish a harmonious relationship between humans and nature, restoring the river to its healthy state and benefiting the residents of Tai Wai. The design concept encompasses two aspects: ecology and community. In terms of ecology, the main focus is to create a natural environment within the Tai Wai River section, providing habitat for various flora and fauna. On the community front, the emphasis is on promoting diverse activities for the residents of Tai Wai. This includes incorporating cultural and creative industries into the industrial areas, organizing weekend markets, and improving bicycle pathways, among other initiatives.
在工業化時代後，人們對城市美感的關注日益增加，許多國家正致力於將溪流恢復至自然狀態，打造宜人的景觀和水友好區域。然而，在香港，這類專案的發展相對較為緩慢。我們意識到大圍明渠的潛力，致力於建立人與自然之間的和諧關係，使大圍河得以恢復健康，造福於大圍居民。
設計理念涵蓋了生態與社區兩個方面。在生態方面，將注重打造大圍河段的自然生態環境，為不同的動植物提供棲息地。透過恢復原有河道結構、增加植被覆蓋、建立濕地過濾系統等措施，將促進水質改善，並提供更多的生態多樣性。
在社區方面，將重點關注大圍居民的多元化活動。計劃增添工廠區文創元素，為居民提供創作和展示的空間。同時，還計劃舉辦定期的假日市集，為居民提供購物和娛樂的場所。此外，將改善單車徑系統，鼓勵居民使用自行車作為環保的交通方式，同時提供更多的休憩區域。
