Studying Landscape Architecture has been an exciting journey full of surprises. Every moment makes me eager to discover more. As a student of landscape architecture, I am deeply attracted by the beauty that surrounds us, every texture, every detail of environmental changes, and every human activity that surrounds us. My biggest hope is to make spaces comfort and joy, haven where people from all walks of life, where are regardless of age, background, or culture, where can gather with open hearts, breathe freely, and momentarily let go of their worries, where can find belongings and a sense of peace.
This project redesigned the housing estate, which is situated within Tung Chung’s Fu Tung Estate and Yu Tung Court. Aiming to counteract increasing resident alienation and restore social cohesion, the design addresses critical site issues, including an underutilized rooftop car park, fragmented connectivity of recreational areas, and a deficiency of amenities catering to youth.
By strategically partitioning the site into the Fu Yu Flea Market, Meditation Forest, and Sporty World to meet contemporary recreational preferences. Ultimately, this formal redesign transforms underutilized areas into inclusive and accessible environments that promote intergenerational harmony, foster a spirit of compassion, and provide residents with a renewed sense of place.
