I'm Ivy, my academic background in landscape architecture has taught me the value of user experience and attention to detail, which is reflected in my strong portfolio. I find it exciting to merge technology and design to create immersive experiences that don't just look stunning but are functional and adaptable.Through my graduation project, "Ballad of the Plain," which focuses on the historic Hakka village of Kuk Po, I strive to weave traditional cultural heritage with modern sustainable infrastructure and smart agricultural technology. I believe landscape architecture is not merely about aesthetic spatial arrangement, but a powerful catalyst for social and ecological healing. I am dedicated to designing resilient, inclusive communities that bridge the past and the future.
“Ballad of the Plain” revitalizes Kuk Po, an isolated 300-year-old Hakka village in Hong Kong. Utilizing an “Acupunctural Strategy” and the SEPLS framework, the design rejects large-scale demolition. Instead, it proposes precise, low-impact landscape interventions across three distinct zones: The Gateway (a resilient pier), The Living Pantry (eco-agriculture and wetlands), and The Social Hearth (heritage community spaces). This approach actively balances biodiversity conservation with human livelihood, supporting the returning diaspora and a “Half-Farmer Half-X” hybrid economy. Ultimately, the project transforms a decaying settlement into a dynamic socio-ecological system, weaving a sustainable, living heritage for future generations.
