WAN Yan Chi is a creative developer with experience in designing and building interactive applications across multiple platforms. Several projects have been developed, including a multiplayer 3D Tic-Tac-Toe game, a mixed reality (MR) application for first aid training focused on AED and CPR procedures, and an application designed for interactive kiosk environments. Within these projects, emphasis is placed on user interaction, real-time system design, and the integration of emerging technologies to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. A strong interest in interactive media and experiential design is consistently demonstrated through practical development work. In addition to technical practice, a founding member role in the MTI Society has been undertaken, reflecting active involvement in community building and collaborative initiatives within the field.

The “Fair Trade Vending Machine” project examines the issue of capitalist exploitation within global supply chains and promotes the fair trade sector through an interactive vending machine experience. The installation functions as both a purchasing platform and an educational tool. Through the use of posters, short films, mini-games, and redesigned product packaging, it reveals the hidden social costs behind everyday commodities such as coffee, cocoa, and tea.

Users are introduced to issues including child labour, unfair wages, and unsafe working conditions, and are subsequently informed about how fair trade practices support farmers, workers, families, and communities. The system also records interaction and sales data to evaluate whether exposure to educational content influences users’ purchasing decisions regarding fair trade products.
