Denise Cheng, a graduate of THEi's product design program, designed the final-year project. The design name is Bope, which is an innovative, modular toy ecosystem addressing the problem of short product lifecycles and environmental waste in the toy industry. Tailored for toddlers aged 1.5 to preschool years, it evolves dynamically alongside a child’s developmental milestones.

bope is an innovative, modular toy ecosystem that addresses short product lifecycles and environmental waste in the toy industry. Designed for toddlers aged 1.5 to preschool, it evolves dynamically alongside a child’s developmental milestones. The system combines the organic warmth of interlocking natural wood bases with vibrant, multi-material components. Children can stack ABS plastic pipes and tumbler blocks, spin soft silicone gears, and build unique character stories. Additionally, it features interactive photosensitive resin sorting panels with liquid-motion visuals and ball-in-a-maze puzzles.
