I am Samuel, and I graduated in 2025/2026 from the Product Design program at Thei, Chai Wan campus, where I developed strong skills in creative design and practical innovation. My academic foundation also includes a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, which gave me solid technical knowledge of materials, manufacturing, and mechanical systems. Over the past five years, I have gained extensive hands‑on experience with SOLIDWORKS, applying it to 3D modeling, product visualization, and engineering projects. This combination of design education, mechanical expertise, and CAD proficiency enables me to approach challenges with both creativity and technical precision.

In Hong Kong, there are currently no secondary schools specifically designed for visually impaired students. Within the inclusive education, students with special eductional needs (SEN) who meet the required standards may attend mainstream schools. As 60% of visually impaired students are classified as having low vision, approximately 70% of them enroll in mainstream secondary schools each year. However, visually impaired students account for less than 1% of the overall SEN population, therefore providing appropriate and sufficient support for these students remains a challenge for schools, especially in terms of braille materials and promoting social interaction.

The project is aims to narrow the social gap between visually impaired students and mainstream students while supporting learning. By using building blocks of different shapes, students can better understand the equation \((a+b)^3 = a^3 + 3a^2b + 3ab^2 + b^3\). Through gameplay, the project seeks to enhance students’ motivation and engagement in learning, thereby improving academic outcomes.

香港目前雖未設有專門為視障人士而設的中學,但受益於共融教育政策,能力達標的SEN學生可入讀主流學校,加上全體視障學生約六成屬於低視能組別,因此每年大約七成視障學生升讀主流中學。然而,視障學生僅佔整體SEN學生不到百分之一,如何為這些學生提供適切且充足的支援將成爲是學校面臨的一大挑戰,尤其是點字教材的編制和促進視障學生的社交方面。

此項目目的在於在學習之餘,拉近視障學生與主流學生之間的社交距離。透過不同形狀的積木互動,可以讓學生具體理解方程式:((a+b)^3) = (a^3) + 3((a^2)b)+3(a(b^2))+(b^3) 的展開原理;同時以遊戲的方式提升學生的學習動機和接受性,從而提升整體學習成效。
