I am Leung Kwan Ho, an ICT student building an immersive driving simulator to help people prepare for the Hong Kong Driving Tests. I like writing code, solving practical problems, and trying out new technology. I also follow technical news because it gives me ideas I can use in future software development.
This project builds an immersive driving simulator in Unity for learners preparing for the Hong Kong driving tests. It recreates a selected virtual road section in Sha Tin and includes a separate practice area for basic control and Part B manoeuvres such as parking, U-turns, reversing, stopping and low-speed steering. The prototype adds route missions, navigation and minimap support, traffic lights, OpenXR VR settings and steering wheel input. It is not an official assessment tool. Instead, it gives learners a place to rehearse routes, refine timing and practise with more confidence before supervised driving lessons on real roads in Hong Kong.
本項目使用 Unity 製作了一款沉浸式駕駛模擬器,以供準備香港駕駛考試的學員練習。系統重建了沙田一某段指定路線,另並設有虛擬訓練場,讓學員在沒有風險的環境下,反覆練習乙部試的常見動作,包括基本控車、泊車、掉頭、倒車、停車、低速轉向等。原型加入了任務提示、路線導航、小地圖、交通燈、OpenXR 虛擬實境設定和方向盤輸入,使其更接近實際駕駛情境。此模擬器並非官方評分或考試系統,而是路面訓練課堂前的輔助工具,幫助學員熟習路線、掌握操作時機,並逐步建立駕駛信心。
